Refund policy
Refund & Returns Policy
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return under our 30-day return policy, your item should be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused where reasonably possible, with tags attached where applicable, and in its original packaging where reasonably possible. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
These conditions do not affect any statutory consumer rights you may have, including your legal right to cancel an online purchase within the applicable 14-day cooling-off period.
To start a return, you can contact us at alight@alight.ie.
If your return is accepted, we’ll provide instructions on how and where to send your package. Where a return shipping label is provided, we will provide the label and relevant instructions. Items sent back to us without first contacting us may experience delays in processing.
You can always contact us for any return questions at alight@alight.ie.
Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us as soon as reasonably possible if the item is defective, damaged, not as described, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Your statutory consumer rights relating to faulty, damaged, incorrect, or non-conforming goods are not affected by this policy.
Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
Certain types of items may not be eligible for the statutory right to cancel where a specific legal exception applies. These can include certain personalised or custom-made products and certain goods that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed.
Where a statutory exception applies, we will make this clear before purchase.
This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise does not conform to the sales contract.
Sale items are not excluded from statutory consumer rights. Sale or discounted items may therefore still be returned where a statutory right applies.
Gift cards are not refundable once purchased, except where otherwise required by law.
If you are unsure whether a particular item can be returned, please contact us at alight@alight.ie before sending it back.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is generally to return the item you have and, once the return has been accepted, place a separate purchase for the new item.
Any exchange offered by Alight is subject to availability.
This does not affect any statutory right you may have to a refund, replacement, repair, price reduction, or other remedy.
European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
If you are a consumer purchasing online and the applicable law gives you a statutory right to cancel, you generally have 14 days from the day you receive your goods to cancel your order without giving a reason.
To exercise this right, you must notify us within the applicable cancellation period. After notifying us, you generally have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
You may inspect and try the goods to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning in a manner that would reasonably be allowed in a shop.
You do not automatically lose your cancellation right because an item has been opened, removed from its packaging, or tried on.
However, you may be responsible for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect or try the goods.
The statutory cooling-off right applies to eligible purchases regardless of whether the item was sold at full price or at a discount.
Certain legal exceptions to the cooling-off right may apply to specific products. Where an exception applies, we will identify it where required.
Return Shipping Costs
For a change-of-mind cancellation under the statutory cooling-off period, you may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods where permitted by law and where you were informed of this before purchase.
Where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or otherwise does not conform to the sales contract, we will handle return costs and remedies in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and, where applicable, let you know whether the return has been approved.
For a valid cancellation under the applicable statutory cooling-off period, we will issue the refund within the timeframe required by law. We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or you have provided evidence that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Where required by law, the refund will include the standard delivery charge paid for the original order. We are not required to refund additional costs resulting from your choice of a more expensive delivery option.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.
Once a refund has been issued, your bank or payment provider may take additional time to process and display the refund in your account.
If you have not received your refund within the applicable timeframe after we have confirmed that it has been issued, please contact us at alight@alight.ie.
